Wednesday »« First Day Back From Spring Break
Starting with morning business, I was picked for roving reporter. We all wrote what we did over spring break. Some of us were able to share what we did over spring break with the class. We all then lined up for band/study hall class.
I went to band and set up my percussion equipment. We reviewed songs we had been playing before spring break. We played some together with different groups of instruments. Percussion was lucky they were able to pack up first today.
Then we went right to our specials class today. Today’s specials class was music. We were able to sit wherever we liked today. I sat next to Austin. We learned how to dance to music today. It was hard at first, but once I got the hang of it I enjoyed it.
Next we went back to the classroom for reading. There we worked as a team to fix our “Telescopes” test. Ms. Morris said the winning team would receive a prize. We didn’t find out who the winning team was today.
After reading we worked on Language Arts and Spelling. First we took our practice spelling test. I didn’t do so well on it. Better luck on Friday when the test counts. Next we read our Writing Express book which is a book about poems. I first read all my poems and then had to revise and edit them.
In math we received our vocabulary word definitions, which we have a test on Wednesday. We worked on Blue A.M. (Accelerated Math). Then it was time to line up for recess and lunch.
At recess I ran around the track and filled a card. This gave me 50 miles in the mileage club! When recess was finished we lined up for lunch. I had cold lunch today. At lunch I sat next to Ian and we talked about jokes I had learned over spring break. When lunch was over we made our way back up to the class for A.R. (Accelerated Reading).
Before A.R. Ms. Morris said I.C.M.M. Silver Club could go to their lockers first to get their things for the end of the day. Finally I was able to sit down and enjoy my book. Last, we all lined up to go home for the day.
At the end of every day Ms. Morris walks us down to the band room and says “Have a nice day!”
